Once a teacher from Crete told me story about
the Giant Crete. Look at the map of Crete, turn upside down she told me,
tell me what you see? "A giant"
Yes it really looks like a giant and the people from each area representing
different part of the giant's body.
Prefecture of Lasithi is the foot of the giant, and that's why people who lives there loves to travel. The Prefecture of Heraklion is the stomach of the giant, that's the reason Heraklion`s love to eat so much. The Prefecture of Rethymno is the heart of the giant, and the people who lives there, they are very friendly. The Prefecture of Chania is the head of giant, that's the reason why people here have shotguns and are the smartest.
Are they so different? Maybe they are like the nature, which change from
minute to minute. One thing is for shore, Crete is one mystic island,
full of charm, beautiful, romantic, warm and friendly. This is the main
reason, I came here once, but I never went back home.
Many years in Crete learn me a lot about the island and its people. My work here has been related to the tourist business, I speak Greek, and I am really comfortable with their culture. This must be the reason I've been chosen as the Editor for Cretebysummer
